Held every Sunday, The Detroit Zen Center offers a Newcomers' Introductory Service.  This service is an introduction to Zen Meditation, Buddhism, and the Center itself,  including a talk & tea.  Donations are welcome.  The service is followed by informal time to mingle and ask questions.
