Retreats

During the last week of most months throughout the year, we offer either 1-day, weekend, 5-day, or week-long Retreats.  

Retreats are by application only, and in most cases we require beginners to start with a 1-day or weekend retreat before registering for a 5 or 7 day retreat.

Zen Retreats offer a full daily schedule of meditation, yoga, healthy meals, manual work and periods of rest.  Retreat students follow the same schedule, in the principle of 'together-action'.  Retreats are silent except for instruction or emergencies, and students are not allowed to use devices during retreats.  

Weekend Retreats offer private sleeping rooms with shared bathrooms to students, while 5 & 7 day retreats offer a traditional monastic form, where students sleep on mats in the large meditation hall.

 

Intro to Zen Courses are offered seasonally, and are taught by our Abbot or Vice-Abbot.  They usually run one evening per week for 4 weeks, limited to 10 students.  We currently do not have any courses scheduled due to Covid-19.
